First: Because you live near the cusp or boarder of the united states and Canada.. Canada would be a great area to explore for crystals and minerals.. I have seen ares when crystals are simply exposed and above ground, Prime for the taking..

Second: Keep track of gem and minerals shows in the MI area. This is another great way to obtain the minerals, crystals, raw and tumbled and even pendulums..

Third: it is entirely possible to locate Gem Mines in your area or just out side of your area. Plan a day trip to a local gem mine and have fun sluicing through seeded buckets of a wide variety of stones and minerals.
