Hi.

I'm new to this forum and very happy to finally find an online community of crystal lovers. I've been a collector since childhood, have an undergrad degree in geology, and continue to love rocks of all kinds.

But I do have a few questions.

First, about citrine.

How can you tell if a specimen (especially cut and polished) is natural or if it's been heat treated?

Also, what is the difference between citrine and other yellow quartzes? I think it's which chemical causes the yellow color. Is that correct?
